This is the first quilt I made as an adult. It started out as scraps from the Scrappy Trip Around the World quilt that I ended up having more fun with. I made the blocks and then arranged them into the rows pretty much by color. I had such a fun time making this quilt. I was using a Singer Prelude that I got for Christmas when I was 11 or 12. I remember I kept having all of these weird stitching problems and I learned that you should change your sewing machine needle more than once a decade.
There was a lot of shifting when I quilted it and the back ended up being too short, so I had to sew on this little strip of floral fabric in the middle of quilting it.
The binding is a good first effort. I just sort of zigzagged over it until it stuck on. I cut some of the weird parts with scissors.
Pattern: this is improvisationally pieced and then the sashing is 2″ finished. probably.
Fabric: Scraps!
Quilting: I quilted this with a walking foot on my domestic machine. It is stitched in the ditch.
Finished size is 66″x86″.
