Purple Chain

I named this after Purple Rain. Also, there is a woman in my quilt guild who is always like “Don’t fold your quilt in half it will get CREASES” and I disregarded this advice, folded this quilt up, and put it away and OMG CREASES. I just love folding stuff in half though.

This quilt is part of a series of quilts I have been working on out of the same batch of scraps from a quilt camp. They were going to throw away a bunch of scraps that no one wanted, and being a scrap lover who has a lot of internalized issues due to the number of single use plastics I singly use, I took them home and thought I would make a couple quilts out of them and call it a day. I think I have like 7 that use a preponderance of these scraps. Plus people give me scraps (THANK YOU I LOVE IT) so a lot of the dustier ones got folded into these projects. I like having a starting point, and also working with more muted colors was a lot more challenging than I thought it would be.

Pattern: This is another Irish Chain. I tell ya they are great scrap busters. Oh, I should have called this the dust buster. Next time.

Fabric: Scraps! the background is a Moda Grunge in like boysenberry?

Quilting: I machine quilted this on my domestic machine.

Finished size is 48.5″x68.5″.
